No "reality tv" (even though that stuff is actually scripted), news programs, game shows, talk shows, sports, etc. I will be including MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000, and its direct-to-video heirs, namely DVD releases from CINEMATIC TITANIC and RIFFTRAX. MONKEE SEE, MONKEE DIE -- The boys attend a reading of the will. Includes the old haunted castle clip used in countless Corman films, and the gang wear classic monster masks! MONKEE VS MACHINE -- Mike gets a job at a toy factory and outwits Stan Freberg and his not so efficient computer. YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD KIDNAPPER -- The Monkees are kidnapped so they can't perform in a band contest. Vic Tayback plays one of the hired hoods. THE SPY WHO CAME IN FROM THE COOL -- Spies are after secret microfilm hidden in Davy's maracas. SUCCESS STORY -- Davy's uncle wants to take him back to England because he hasn't made it in the music biz. Charlie Callas appears as an Ice Cream Man. HERE COME THE MONKEES -- Pilot episode where Davey falls in love with a sweet sixteen girl. Is there an episode where Davey doesn't fall in love? MONKEES IN A GHOST TOWN -- The gang run out of gas in a ghost town and meet gangsters Lon Chaney Jr. and Jerry Seinfeld's Uncle Leo. Fun episode DON'T LOOK A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH -- The boys try to hide a horse from their landlord. The wacky Jerry Colonna plays a wacky vetinarian. THE CHAPERONE -- Davy falls in love ("NO, what a shock!"), but can't date her without a chaperone. Micky in drag to the rescue. MONKEES A LA CARTE -- The band works at a gangsters nightclub. Harvey Lembeck sheds his Eric Von Zipper leather jacket for a pinstripe suit. ONE MAN SHY -- Girl shy Peter falls for a Debutante. Davy must have been tired that week. DANCE, MONKEE, DANCE -- The boys get suckered into signing a lifetime membership to a dance studio. Fred & Ginger they ain't. TOO MANY GIRLS -- Davy swears off women...yeah right. SON OF A GYPSY -- Gypsies try force the boys to steal the Maltese Vulture from a wealthy society woman. CASE OF THE MISSING MONKEY -- The Monkees foil a spy plot to kidnap a professor. Vincent Gardenia plays one of the spies. I WAS A TEENAGE MONSTER -- A mad scientist (John Hoyt) hires the boys to teach his monster how to sing rock n' roll. THE AUDITION -- The boys hope to get an audition with eccentric TV producer Carl Ballantine. MONKEES IN THE RING -- Davy becomes a prisefighter...and no, he doesn't box midgets. THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPERS -- Davy trades places with a look-a-like price to help him with his lovelife. If you look like Davy Jones (and your rich) do you really need help picking up chicks? MONKEES AT THE CIRCUS -- The boys try to help a struggling circus from folding. Send in the clowns... CAPTAIN CROCODILE -- The group gets a gig on a kids show starring a mean (behind the scenes) host. ALIAS MICKY DOLENZ -- Micky impersonates look-a-like gangster "Baby Face". Davy Jones was MIA this episode. MONKEE CHOW MEIN -- The boys get a fortune cookie with hidden spy info in it. Mike Farrel plays a CIA agent. MONKEE MOTHER -- Rose Marie makes her second appearance this season as a woman who moves in with the group. MONKEES ON THE LINE -- The boys think an aspiring actress is suicidal. THE MONKEES GET MORE OUT OF DIRT -- All four fall madly in love with Julie Newmar...and who can blame them? Yowsa! THE MONKEES IN MANHATTAN -- Yeah, but they never leave their hotel in this episode that borrows from Room Service. GET SMART MR. BIG -- Pilot episode and the only one filmed in b&w. Michael Dunn is the KAOS villain. Max and 99 meet and work together for the first time. Another first is the use of the Cone of Silence. DIPLOMAT'S DAUGHTER -- Max matches wits with the evil oriental KAOS agent the Craw...no not Craw, Claw! SCHOOL DAYS -- Will Max discover the identedy a KAOS infiltrator in CONTROL Spy School before he flunks out?. OUR MAN IN TOYLAND -- Max, 99, and Fang learn that John Hoyt is using a toy store as a front for sneaking out secret information. In his spare time Hoyt shrinks down some teenagers and takes them out to play with at night...oh, wait a minute. NOW YOU SEE HIM, NOW YOU DON'T -- Max must stop spies from selling an invisibility ray gun to enemy nations. We get our first visit to Max's apartment and see a few of his safety devices in this episode. WASHINGTON 4, INDIANS 3 -- Indians threaten war on the United States unless they give back all the land they stole. Max plays cowboy. KAOS IN CONTROL -- Max takes charge after a ray gun turns the Chief and other Control agents mentally into 8-year olds. Barbara Bain plays KAOS agent. THE DAY SMART TURNED CHICKEN -- KOAS tries the Gaslight treatment on Max just before he's about to testify at a trial against them. Max uses the catch-phrase "Sorry about that Chief." for the first time. We also learn the Chief's first name is -- Thadeus. SATAN'S PLACE -- KAOS agents kidnap the Chief. We find out that Max not only has a shoe phone, but a shoe tie, shoe belt, shoe glasses, and a shoe wallet! OUR MAN IN LEOTARDS -- KAOS agents steal a paralizing drug from Control. Max kisses 99 for the first time, but only after he accidentally paralizes her. That's close to date rape territory Agent 86. Turn in your Roofies. TOO MANY CHIEFS -- A KAOS master-of-disguise assassin impersonates the Chief and 99 gets jealous of the girl Max is assigned to protect. MY NEPHEW THE SPY -- Max must keep his secret agent identity secret from his visiting aunt & uncle. The wonderful Charles Lane plays his crotchety uncle. ABOARD THE ORIENT EXPRESS -- Max must discover who is killing the courier agents carrying the payroll for Control spies. We meet agent 13 (Victor French) for the first time, and Johnny Carson cameos as a train conductor "Hiyooooooo!" WEEKEND VAMPIRE -- Max & 99 meet Martin Kosleck! KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER THE RIPPER -- Jack the Ripper returns to carve up a bunch of strippers and massage girls. Why don't he pick on some of the ugly broads? Kolchak knows who is doing the slicing and dicing, but who will believe him? BATTLESTAR GALACTICA HE THAT BELIEVETH IN ME SIX OF ONE THE TIES THAT BIND ESCAPE VELOCITY THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED FAITH GUESS WHAT'S COMING TO DINNER THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN THE HAUNTED LIGHTHOUSE -- Jeepers, there's no Lois, very little Superman, and too much Jimmy Olsen in this episode. THE CASE OF THE TALKATIVE DUMMY -- Crooks use a ventriloquist act to pass on armored truck info. Clark Kent gets wise and slips into his leotards. (12/28/08 2:24 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	What I tend to do is list mainly scripted, story-driven TV shows (serialized or anthologies) I watch (daily, weekly, once-in-a-blue-moon), be they from DVD, TV (Satellite, stuff recorded on my DVR hard drive, LD, VHS), or even streaming internet (YouTube, etc). I don't list news programs, sports, reality shows, clip shows, variety shows, sketch comedy (SNL, MONTY PYTHON, etc) --too hard to list simply and understandably; I like to list shows that have definite episode titles (rather than "Season 2, Episode 3"), whether those titles actually appear on-screen or not. Personal exceptions have been Michael Palin's travel documentary series (since they are scripted and each tells a continuing story), MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 (and its direct-to-video off-shoots, CINEMATIC TITANIC and RIFFTRAX, which I guess are sort of on the outer fringes of being technically sitcoms), and occasional one-shot TV specials (like A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS).
