That doesn't work, because I enjoy many Poverty Row films and don't find 'em snoozers. THE MONSTER MAKER and THE DEVIL BAT are among my favorite non-boring PRC's. What the hell has that got to with anything? Your logic is always so damn confusing. The Devil Bat is from the same studio and is full to the brim with exciting hijinks - albiet low budget ones - and Strangler has some wonderful direction that makes the most of its supernatural elements, but a screenplay that is only sporadically related to them "a screenplay that is only sporadically related to them" The screenplay is almost entirely about the Strangler. Yes, he only puts in brief appearances, but to say the movie is not about the supernatural Strangler is on par with saying Horror of Dracula is not about Dracula because of Christopher Lee's relatively brief appearances, and Curse of the Demon has no supernatural elements because the Demon is only briefly in view. I really don't understand this criticism at all. Gen Xer

I like this movie has some good old creepy atmosphere and much more enjoyable than most Poverty Row films.

So time between action takes on substance for me, even when the screen is 100% ghost free. It's either ghost, or waiting for ghost. STRANGLER is certainly one of my favorite Poverty pieces. I guess one man's ZZZZ is another man's BRRR.
