Hello,
I just wanted to start a discussion regarding the few early sound horror films that we cannot see at home today. Most all are on video in some form, but I just wanted to confirm that these following are currently unavailable -
ALMOST MARRIED (1932) - I know Gary Rhodes wrote an article on this a few years back (which I've got to pick up). If I remember, there is a print of this at UCLA.
TRICK FOR TRICK (1933) - This one is at MOMA and I did get to screen it a few years back. But, it's not available on video.
RETURN OF THE TERROR (1934) - This semi-sequel to THE TERROR is on a nitrate print at the Library of Congress, however there is no viewable safety print.
FIFTEEN WIVES (1934) - I had checked a few years back for Frank Strayer's one missing horror film and even Sinister and Michael Price were not sure of where a copy would be.
Also, does anyone know what exactly UCLA has of Cooper and Schoedsack's THE MONKEY'S PAW? Is it just sound elements or fragments???
And does anyone know of any other lost post-DRACULA sound horror films? The list of the missing really starts to go up when you look at THE CAT CREEPS and THE GORILLA in 1930 and go backwards.
Thanks,
Kenny Strong
