YES--the missing footage from FMTWM is a must! Strong contenders would be for BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN's missing footage and the complete disintegration scene of Christopher Lee in HORROR OF DRACULA (I think the business about shots of blood squirting into the camera is bull$h!t--and probally is just the bloodier footage already reinstated in the movie) . As I believe there is a small amount of missing footage from several movies that does exist--but nobody really gives a damn about about restoring it to current prints. Examples would be for MGM's remake of DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE (I think it was seen in television prints in the 60's as well as English ones within the past two decades) and SON OF FRANKENSTEIN (it was on youtube awhile back but not anymore). I believe there was some guy in Texas that claimed to have discovered a Mexican print of BRIDE that contained a couple of extra scenes of the villagers in pursuit of the Monster--and he contacted Universal about it--but they weren't interested. I don't remember where I read it--and I don't know if it's a load of bull$h!t or what--but it wouldn't be a surprise. Does anybody know if this is true--or just another myth?

I'd have to say that the Mexican claim is a bunch of "caca de toro", since the film was cut by Universal before it was submitted to the censors, and therefore the missing scenes would not be in the domestic or exported negatives. Other wants: MARK OF THE VAMPIRE MAD LOVE (the murder of Ian Wolfe- exists in stills but not in the film) KING KONG (not just the spider sequence, but the complete 14 reel studio preview version) PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1925- the "sneak preview" version) DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE (1931- The scene of Hyde trampling a child) FREAKS (of course) In terms of lost films, I'm like to see them all ;-) Major wants, however, would be WHILE PARIS SLEEPS (Why does nobody seem interested in Chaney's first horror film?), THE WIZARD, THE TERROR, LIVING BUDDHAS and THE GORILLA (1927). I know Liar Liar MacIntyre has seen them all, so that guarantees they're lost.

Alot of honest folks claim that a scene in THE WOLF MAN is missing I've never heard of the missing transformation scene that you mention, but there was a sequence of the Lonster scrapping with a bear at the carnival that was cut. The problem with this thread is that it gets me frustrated that all these films & scenes are lost! Maybe we'll get to see them in that big Screening Room in the Sky...
