In Northern California, it has been a mixed bag. KROY-1240 DJ, JOHNNY HYDE hosted Horror Movies on KMUV-31 SACRAMENTO from 1974-75 and KXOA-K108FM DJ, DUSTY MORGAN was the second host on KRBK-31 (Ex-KMUV) DISASTERPIECE THEATER in 1982 then of course there was KITS-LIVE 105 DJ, ALEX BENNETT hosted SATURDAY NIGHT DEAD on KICU-36 SAN JOSE from 1990-92 and KRXQ-93 ROCK DJ, WHITEY GLEASON hosted FRIGHT NIGHT THEATER on KSCH-58 SACRAMENTO from 1991-94. Of the 4, ALEX BENNETT was the worst. His segments were based out of a BAY AREA NIGHTCLUB. Other than the movie, Nothing else Horror based. WHITEY GLEASON was the best. At least he tried to imitate BOB WILKINS though his movies weren't that good (most of the movies were relatively new like NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3). His segments weren't that bad. Like WILKINS, he interviewed Horror and Sci Fi Celebrities. He was known on the air as CREEPMEISTER MAXIMUS- WHITEY GLEASON.Also like WILKINS (as well as JOHN STANLEY), he did not dress up as a ghoul or vampire, just himself. SCARY MONSTERS MAGAZINE did an article on him. (actually written by TOM WRYSCH who does those wonderful WILKINS and STANLEY DVD's and both WILKINS and STANLEY SCRAPBOOKS). Other than ZACHARLEY, are there any other RADIO DJ's as HORROR HOSTS and how are they?
