Saturday night was fun, highlighted by the WORLD premiere of Max the Severed Head's video -- including a wild robot-gone-amok scene -- an illusionist and a room full of people worthy of The Old Dark Clubhouse. We also chatted with Terry Pace (who drove up from Alabama), Gordon Shriver, SCARY MONSTERS' columnist John Skerchock, Dwight 'Detective' Kemper, Joe Moe, Barb Heiss, and the entire Chaney clan, who told me how much they enjoyed the USA TODAY 'Monster Kid' article featuring Ron, Bela and Sara a few months back.
I was also interviewed on video by J. Michael Roddy, who is preparing a documentary on 'Monster Kids,' and who laughed when I told him my love of monsters was born when I saw KING KONG on Million Dollar Movie in New York. It seems three or four of his intervewees have said the same thing! A friend from work, Keith Carter, came with me, bearing a promo for his upcoming 3D version of NOSFERATU, called ORLOK. I took a few photos (Eileen didn't make it this time), which I'll post soon but hopefully photos from others -- including a surprise appearance of Ron Chaney made up as the Wolf Man by makeup whiz Ron Chamberlain -- will be posted here forthwith! david
