Another detective role for Williams was in the THRILLER episode "Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper." And he was a victim when COLUMBO went to England. "Dagger of the Mind" was a fun episode with a classy British cast including Williams, Honor Blackman, Wilfrid Hyde-White and Bernard Fox, with yankee Richard Basehart headlining as Blackman's co-conspirator.

I don't even think the great Karloff could have done justice to the part as well as Williams. That's why he (Williams) won a Tony for this same role on Broadway. Not because I'm a Tom Conway fan, but he could have handled the role I think. We got somewhat of a glimpe of this kind of character, when he (Conway), played a Chief of Police in an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, entitled- "Relative Value" (March 1, 1959).

The John Williams "Infomercial" for classic music was indeed shown long after his death. Even as a teen I knew commercials featuring actors were immediately pulled when said actors died. However, the Williams ad just kept getting play.

It's a courtroom drama, and the court looks real.

In MIDNIGHT LACE, Williams plays a character similar to his role in DIAL M FOR MURDER, but they have different names, so I assume they're different police detective-inspectors.

John Williams reprised his DIAL M FOR MURDER part in MIDNIGHT LACE, a Frightened Lady film with Doris Day which comes close to horror.
