Hello Steve Reeves Fans,
This e-mail is to inform you of the upcoming Steve Reeves Film Festival, a once in a lifetime event being held this August 22 and 23 in Steve's home town of Valley Center, California. The event will take place at the Harrah's Rincon Hotel / Casino Resort in Valley Center, California (Valley Center is just 35 miles north of San Diego).
Friday Evening Agenda (August 22):
The evening starts with a 1-hour reception followed by dinner and live entertainment. After dinner, we'll be showing the Best of Steve Reeves Home Movies, including Steve:
Note that these clips are from the original 8 mm color films we have in our collection.
Following the films, you'll then meet our very special guest for the evening, Ms. Sandra (Reeves) Schakel, Steve's first wife. A special gift will be presented to Sandra followed by a short (and rare) film of Sandra and Steve.
Other activity that night will include a silent auction, prizes, and more.
All Day Saturday Agenda (August 23).
The day will begin with the opening of the world's largest collection of Steve Reeves Memorabilia. Other than the Bronze Sandow bodybuilding statue, none of the unique items in our collection have ever been put on public display. The rare collection includes:
Throughout the day, we will have seminars on Steve's bodybuilding, fitness training, and his film career presented by the people who knew him best.
As a special attraction to the first 75 people who sign up for the Festival, a tour of Steve's former 14-acre ranch will be conducted. We've been given special permission by the ranch's current owners to offer this unique tour, a first since acquiring ownership from the Steve Reeves estate. Don't miss out and sign up today!
In addition, the city of Valley Center will open its doors at a special time for us so you can see their own wonderful museum. There on display will be additional Steve Reeves items as well as items from another former resident, John (The Duke) Wayne.
A Steve Reeves retail area consisting of books, movies, clothing, and other items will be available for purchase throughout the Festival.

For those who wish to stay at the Harrah's Rincon Hotel, we have made arrangements for a special hotel rate until June. Please contact the hotel directly and mention the Steve Reeves Festival in August for the special rate.

I think that's right, Carl. The only reason I remembered Aeneas's name is because I had to read Vergil's "Aeneid" in school. The Steve Reeves version was more exciting. I think it's THE TROJAN HORSE, too, one of the most elaborately produced pepla I've seen. The sequel is nowhere near as spectacular.

Geezermonster wrote: Thor's sidekick is a musclebound version of Stepin Fetchit and Thor is defending a tall, drop-dead gorgeous blonde princess of Babylon played by "Susy Anderson". Checking out "Susy" is worth the rental or sale price of this turkey. The payoff comes in the final reel when Thor wins a tug-of-war with a hundred Amazons, "Susy" is locked in an exciting girl-girl fight with one of the evil gladiator ladies, and the enslaved men stage a revolt. And of course, the evil queen (there's always an evil queen) is nailed by "Susy's" spear!
Monsterpal wrote: It looks like a real DVD. The image is really sharp, the color is rich, and it's in the proper aspect ratio. The flip side, GOLIATH AND VAMPIRES, does look like a DVD-R, however, but I don't know where you'd find a better copy.
