I just saw this posted at the AV Maniacs forum. Turner Classic Movies has a poll asking what film that is not yet on DVD should be put on disc.
http://www.tcm.com/top/notondvd/ For some reason, Island of Lost Souls is not on the list. But it has The Uninvited and many others that surprisingly aren't on DVD. |

Interesting. Note that several of these ARE on DVD, in Region 2.

Hey Jelly Roll! Yeah, interesting list...although not too many of the films that we at the CHFB clamour for. That's not to say that there aren't some
"juicy" picks...
The (aforementioned) "The Uninvited" "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (which of course, is being released this fall) "On Borrowed Time" Fritz Lang's "While the City Sleeps" (with a supporting role from Vincent Price) "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" (which has Boris Karloff in a small role) "A Guy Named Joe" Some eclectic titles of interest (to me, at least) are The rare sequel to the "blaxploitation" classic "Cotton Comes to Harlem", "Goodbye, Charleston Blue" The domestic "Raymond Burr infused" cut of "The Return of Godzilla", known in the U.S. as "Godzilla '85" What is odd is that the list contains films which have already been released such as"Notorious" and "Rebecca" (and are due to be released again), as well as films which have had decent other region releases such as "The Blue Dahlia" (Universal in the U.K.) and Johnny Guitar (Universal & Optimum in the U.K.) Hopefully this list will go somewhere... Walter Mitty WAS released and I sure wish I'd bought it when I had the chance. But that was back when DVD's were about $30 a pop, at least here in
Canada.
I voted twice. Uninvited and Flim-Flam Man, a personal favourite of mine. Professor Von X
