Jul 16 08 2:21 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Just watched all the sequels again on the legacy box set ,was wondering which is the most popular here? I really enjoyed "the mummys tomb" complete with windswept grave yard and wobbly gravestones,i reckon "the mummys hand " was prob the best made-and had the best mummy,but the comic elements grate a little. Anyone know why the mummys curse seem to be from a video transfer and modified to fit the screen? The mummys ghost was my least liked-saying that i enjoyed them all in their lovable way.

But if I had to pick just one, I would say MUMMY'S TOMB. I had the pleasure of recently seeing a pristine 35mm print on the big screen, and it holds up very well. And that fiery finale is gangbusters!

Jan 25 10 4:44 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	my all time favorite is Boris Karloff in the original 1932 film,i just received a double DVD with the Mummy's Hand and the Mummy's Tomb,and I have to admit Tom Tyler's mummy in the Mummy's Hand was more scary than Lon Chaney Jr's in the Mummy's Tomb,i believe it was those shots showing Tyler's black eyes that creeped me out the most!!! Aside from being reminded of the fabulous melding of "Ghost" and "Son of Frankenstein" music cues in the finale, this cut-down convinces me that THE MUMMY'S TOMB should have ended with the Mummy dying in the fire. Jan 27 10 9:57 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'd have to say THE MUMMY'S TOMB is my favorite as well- as a matter of fact, when I made a Lon Chaney Jr. Mummy model, it was from that film. I like the way Kharis appears the best of the 4 films.

Jan 27 10 7:24 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	1) Kharis. There's the shot of him in one of the sequels without the eyes that is super-creepy. He is the prototypical mummy. Karloff is a one-scene wonder. 2) Ananka. Her ressurection in one of the sequels (in the swamp) is very eerie. If she was like that the whole movie, she would give Kharis a run for his money. 3) Imhotep. Easily the best make-up, but one magnificent scene is not enough.

Virginia Christine's resuscitation and Ann Codee's murder are great scenes (though nothing tops Reicher's death in GHOST). And how can you not love Goobie! Comedy helmsman Leslie Goodwins obviously had some fun with this one. Harold Young was inept with TOMB and Reggie LeBorg was "meh" except for the Reicher scene. Jan 28 10 12:40 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	And I'm the guy (the ONE guy, I think), who prefers THE MUMMY'S CURSE. HAND is too padded, a great half-hour horror movie in a 60-minute disguise. TOMB and GHOST are the same movie, Kharis shambles around New England, High Priest lusts for local gal. CURSE is not a great movie by any means, but, at least, it has the benefit of a more exotic locale (no matter how silly at times) than the previous two. And it also features the best single sequence in any Universal Horror of the '40's, the extended awakening/emergence of Ananka from the muck. None of 'em are gonna make us forget FRANKENSTEIN (or THE MUMMY, for that matter), but they are all simple fun. It's just that, for me, CURSE is the one that offers a little more and a little different.

Great location very creepy in the swamps. I always loved the mummy movies more then the others. Maybe because it was not watered down with an all monster cast.

More frightening then Karloffs Frankenstein! Sorry Boris but Pierce did a master piece with this make up. And then turn from decrepit hag to down right SEXY before your eyes!!
