The movie starts off right away with showing the grim slime people coming out of the ground to haunt mankind. Then we follow a little group of people who try to make their way out of town while fighting these evil creatures, but that's not that easy, because the beings from the ground have made a wall of fog surrounding the city making it impossible for humans to escape. The group, consisting of a scientist, a pilot, a young bloke and two teen girls must try to find the machine that creates the strange fog, but dangers lurk everywhere as the invasion is on.
Typical drive in 60s movie about horrible creatures attacking helpless people and this is not that different from other movies like
Invasion Of The Saucer Men (1957) or the old The Outer Limits (1963-1965) episodes. The costumes really look fantastic and awe inspiring, but the acting and everything is
another thing. Low budget and fun. Most annoying thing must be the constant fog on the screen though. It's done with two layers of film you can see, as the
fog often follows the movement of the camera. Sometimes it just gets too much because you think your eyes are hurt or something.
Any comments?
