I looked for a previous thread on this but the search engine says there is none. So....
Just saw this late late Saturday night on a dollar dvd and was very impressed. The film was much better than I expected and actually had me laughing out loud at a couple of places at Mantan's one liners. The movie has solid atmosphere, is well-photographed, with excellent use of shadows and over all has feeling of being better than the average Monogram, IMHO. There is the racial element, which may put some folks off. But really, Mantan comes off as the star in this. To be sure, his shtick is to be afraid of the zombies, bugging his eyes out, etc. But he comes across as much more sensible in this than the white folks who are all pretty dense and I think the audience would identify more with him than any other character.
Also you get Henry "FREAKS" Victor as the heavy, and the storied and exquisitely named black actress Madam Sul-Te-Wan (BIRTH OF A NATION, KING KONG, and this) as a voodoo priestess.
Highly recommended and one of the best of Poverty Row.
