I'm so glad I got to ride them all in August 1961.

Dec 28 12 8:38 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Thanks for your kind comments. I was fortunate to have grown up a few miles from a park with a classic Pretzel and one-of-kind Tracy dark ride. I wish they had not closed the Pretzel (then Laff In The Dark) after the 1963 season as was the best of its kind I've ever ridden. My dream is that somebody in my region will someday reveal a facade photo of Crescent Park's Laff In The Dark. It was an amazing piece of art. As for the gorilla, I "loaned" it to the former Lincoln Park in nearby Dartmouth, MA in 1985 for use in its Monster dark ride. The ride was in neglect and I thought it needed a new scare. The park closed down the next year and an arsonist set fire to the ride. So I never had a chance to retrieve that figure. At least I had it for seven years, and it was cool knowing what a key figure it was in the Riverboat. Yes, we do plan to shoot a third DVD. We have several dark rides under consideration.

You have brought back memories that have just knocked me for a loop. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and my mom and dad used to take my brother and me to Coney Island frequently back in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Of all the rides there we loved SPOOK-A-RAMA the best. In fact, that was the ride that we went to Coney Island to go on. The other stuff was fun, but SPOOK-A-RAMA was THE RIDE!!! Two people sat in a type of car/cart that was on tracks. You got in and the thing rumbled down the tracks into two doors that opened into a pitch black cavern. As the doors closed you couldn't see a thing and felt something touching your head (thin ropes dangling from the ceiling). As you rode around in the pitch black darkness all sorts of monsters, witches, zombies, etc. would suddenly light up or actually pop up right in front of you. No matter how many times we went on this ride it scared the crap out of us!!! We would usually ride it twice on each trip to Coney Island and then beg for a third ride which we usually didn't get. THANKS FOR BRINGING BACK THIS MEMORY! Mike

Feb 3 13 3:03 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I rode Spook-A-Rama in Coney Island a couple years ago...nice classic feel, good "marquee"...but the interior was VERY sparse. Not a lot of spooking going on...or perhaps they were there, but not lit up? Worth a spin regardless!
