Nov 22 09 9:30 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The armatures look very different in the way they are built. The one on the right has a very short thigh to lower leg ratio. Same with the upper and lower arm, too. And the one in the newspaper ad looks like it has a pretty long torso. I guess you can watch the film(s) and try to see if you can see which might have been used where. Nice pics!

Specifically, that photo shows Bob Burns' Kong and Joe armatures, on display at the 2006 Wonderfest in Louisville, Kentucky. (Besides it being apparent from just looking at the armatures, the timestamp on the photo and the display case they are in are both telltale markers as well.)

I ran it over and over. I later got the 200-ft. 10-minute version, and it also was all visual effects sequences. A few years later, I finally saw the movie on TV, and was disappointed that I had already seen the best parts of the film. (One sequence I liked a lot, that never gets mentioned, was the approach to the interior of Skull Island through the grotto. Very original and did not duplicate anything from the first movie.
