Gee, thanks, FRED! LOL
What do I look like, Tony Dow for God's sake?
"Gee, Mom, you were really rough on the Beaver last night."
Or maybe I was being confused with Wally Wood...but they called him Woody......hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Thank you, Markchro, Frank and Woody!
Frank, I don't have the DVD of REBECCA. Perhaps I can Google Mrs. Danvers....ooh! that's an unpleasant thought! Anyway, she goes on my list and if she doesn't make it to the Challenge
this month she may pop up on the Gallery later on.

Boy I really racked my brains over coming up with an image that I felt was memorable from my childhood concerning Alfred Hitchcock, and speaking of racks, I
remembered Dana Wynter in AN UNLOCKED WINDOW...which was one of the most unnerving, edge-of-seat experiences with THE ALFRED HITCHCOCK HOUR that I had. The
surprise ending was a hoot and a holler...but now, of course, most people will see it coming like a Macy's float. But when you're a pre-teenager and
horribly naive, well....
Anyway, all artists, when they are faced with a blank canvas, are the equal of Da Vinci...and the more strokes you make on that canvas the further from him you get. Tee Hee. I say this because I found this super picture of Ms. Wynter...a publicity head shot...and I sketched it up and then sketched a nurse's uniform around her and then began to finish it off with inks and wash and the more I worked on it, the shittier it became. I uploaded it and tried to correct some stuff using digital brushes....all in glorious black and white. Anyway I ain't a-gonna paint the ending...why give it away.......... While I was working on this I thought back to the Richard Speck student nurse murders and creeped myself out. I'll take a dinosaur over a serial killer any day of the week.

Gee, thanks, FRED! LOL LOL! Oh gosh, Woody, sorry about that! That's what happens when I post when I'm tired, but that seems to be the only time I have to post these days. And we, who have broken bread and drank wine together... So sorry, Winky. Frank Dietz

Thanks everybody for your kind comments about the Dana Wynter piece, I appreciate them.
Zombie Dad, as a storyboard artist I can really feel how much work went into your montage of Norman bates, showing everybody how he wouldn't even hurt a fly...down to that little superimposition of the Mother corpse to show that they are now one in the same. Great work! Mark I love the joyful look of your work! And yes, most definitely repost with anything that falls into a challenge!

Thank you, Mark Redfield, Woody and Gossamer!!
Mark, I can think of no better subject for caricature than Hitch, and you've done him splendidly--twice! Woody, I appreciate your compliment! I think this was my first multi-piece project. And, yes, a lot of work--but a lot of fun too! Gossamer, I think Anthony Perkins is fantastic as Norman! I'm happy that you think I caught something of him! ZD |

ZD! I agree anthony was splendidly creepy in the role and I can't think of another actor of the time that would do a better job or be more suitable. And
you did just caputre something "of" him! You got the whole scene, the mood and the actor. Perfect to me anyways. They are terrific.

ZD! Nice to see your Norman end sequence again! I can appreciate the amount of work that went into that and I like the way Mrs Bates just creeps into his smile
at the end! Cool!
Mark! I like your latest Hitch addition with the Bates house and that dramatic sky! And congrats on selling it too! |
