Is there a new challenge for right now? Roger, I am sorry to see (here and on FB posts) that things are still bumpy on your road. I was watching RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES the other day with my son and he was asking a lot of questions about Alzheimers. He just could not get his head around what it is exactly, and I simply told him that "it is probably the worst disease a person could have." My heart breaks when I hear about anybody living with it, and even worse so when it is people who seem like genuinely good people. I have contacted a few of you privately to see if anyone would be interested in taking the baton, I just haven't been able to keep up with it and the thread deserves better. Roger suggested that we open it up to allow members to post the challenge, and that if the need for a moderator every actually raises it's ugly head I could be contacted to intervene... I'm all for the idea, except for the inevitable anarchy of everyone posting a different challenge all at once and no one agreeing on anything... Does anyone know if there is a way to post a poll? Then people could post a poll the last week of the month and allow a challenge to be chosen that way. And since there hasn't been a topic announced for July I'm going to take the opportunity to post my entry from the first Challenge. I'm posting this one because it reminds me of all the support and encouragement I got from the members of this forum when I first posted it. And one of the most encouraging members was a fellow that I've been meaning to congratulate for several months now --- time flies. Sorry it took so long, but CONGRATULATIONS ON THE RONDO WIN, ZOMBIE DAD! BLOODY WELL DONE!!! I was happy to hear that you won it! I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

My hands always shake now, even when I'm not nervous. But my right hand calms down a lot when I'm drawing. I'm sort of like a stutterer who doesn't stutter when he's singing. Jul 31 12 1:18 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I looked up the info and i realized i hadn't posted any artwork here in a long time and i hadn't done one of the challenges in YEARS! Man,the time flies by the older you get doesn't it? However,i have been keeping up on the folder the entire time and doing some lurking that would make Lovecraft proud. I would like to see the challenge make a comeback and i look forward to contributing once again. This folder seem like a bastion of civility in a world where it seems too many art people are focused on being competitive and overly critical. It's nice to see passion and fun still mean something. ..and to Zombie Dad,a belated Kongratulations for your accolade and my sympathy for your situation. My family recently went through the same with my grandfather and it wasn't easy for anyone. On a much lighter note,whenever i see one of your posts,it always reminds me of the portrait you did of Pernell Roberts. I don't know why but he was one of those TV actors who always cracked me up for no apparent reason (the odd name maybe?) and whenever i think of that portrait,it always amuses me for some strange reason.

I just accepted a job offer so I won't have school eating up my time anymore, so that will lighten the load considerably. Hell, I may even be able to get back on the horse an participate once again! I'm glad it's the newer version of the Sonataran as the original creature's face wasn't very scary in the slightest! I often wondered if it had some blurred vision in the centre of the face! Thanks Scott, for chosing the Doctor for this challenge! I'm working on a Matt Smith portrait right now and hopefully I'll have it ready with plenty of time for another picture!
