If you were a kid in the 70s, no actor brought more excitement to the screen than Charlton Heston. "Planet of the Apes", "Soylent Green" "Omega Man" "Earthquake" "Airport '75" the list goes on. Truly amazing movies this man made. Roddy McDowall gave him the nickname "Charlie Hero." I feel like I already miss the guy. Goodbye Charlie Hero....

Yours was the face I saw above my cradle. The only mother I've ever known. Wherever I am led and whatever I must do, I will always love you. Moses, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, 1956

One of the last great actors has been taken from us. I will now watch the OMEGA MAN in memory of Mr. Heston.

Agreed. We went through this devastating and cruel disease with our mom. For a time in the early 70s you couldn't imagine an apocalyptic sci-fi or disaster film without Heston's world-weary hero. R.I.P.
