In the 1980s, while future SIMPSONS animator John Reardon was still a student at CalArts, he did a parody of the Peanuts specials, Sam Peckinpah style, called
BRING ME THE HEAD OF CHARLIE BROWN. (A buddy of mine's brother was also a student at CalArts at the time, so we got to see some of this stuff.) The Great
Pumpkin is not happy with the bum rap he's got because of Charlie Brown, and puts a price on Charlie's head, a price so high the Peanuts gang are
willing to collect. The animation never got polished and painted, but it's still 3 minutes of irreverent fun. Recently stumbled across it on YouTube
(although there seems to be some trouble with the sound).
