I disagree, the Wolfman has nothing to do with Halloween, it's an old fashioned Monster Movie, good any time of the year, why do people think Monster Movies should only be seen at Halloween time?

Die hard fans will go see monster movies no matter what time of the year it is. It would be a smart move to release this movie around Halloween to attract casual fans in the mood for a scary movie because of the season. Having said that.....PLEASE let it be released in the Spring!!!!!!

Still... other reservations, that they WILL overdo the CGI one way or another, almost as if it's an obligation to use it these days rather than a useful tool to be deployed where genuinely needed

It's good business. Why do the studios release their horror titles on DVD around Halloween, and not on Valentines Day or July 4th? Because people are in the mood to watch horror flicks around that time.
