Yep, looks like the R4/2 release is anamorphic, unlike the (reportedly) crummy R1:

We just watched the letterboxed DVD and the image is not too good. However, contrary to the cover description, the audio is 5.1. The movie itself was not as
good as I remembered it being and certainly not as good as the comic. Fortunately, the disc was on sale for 5.99 at Best Buy so "no harm/no foul."

I contacted Disney (the company, not Walt) a couple of years ago about this film on DVD, asking if we'd ever see an upgrade, possibly even including the
"making of" documentary, ROCEKETEER: EXCITEMENT IN THE AIR. Don't know if they might ever change their mind but, for now, there are no plans for
a new & improved release.
