Some interesting choices there. I'll try to shed light on just a few...

THE MOON IN THE GUTTER (La lune dans le caniveau) was indeed made, with Gerard Depardieu and N. Kinski. But it's not a horror/sci-fi effort, despite the title. I know it was reported thus in the pages of FM, but Forry often had to rely on pre-release publicity packets...or sometimes a title alone...when deciding what to include in his Fantasy Fearcast or Horrorscope type of "coming attraction" articles. Real bonanzas of "what could have been", by the way. Here's IMDb's summary...

In Marseilles, a woman commits suicide after she is raped in an alley. Nightly, her brother Gerard broods at the scene hoping to catch the rapist. He lives with his lover Bella whom he neglects, an alcoholic brother who lurks about, and his father who's stayed drunk since the daughter's death, ignoring work and his own companion. At a seedy bar, Gerard meets a wealthy, nihilistic hedonist and his beautiful sister. Gerard flips for her and thinks she's his ticket out of the slum. Bella warns him otherwise and also, in jealousy, sets two thugs on him. Then Gerard thinks he's found his sister's rapist. These emotional crises force Gerard to choose what's most important.

The SALEM'S LOT television series was to have Robert Bloch involved in some capacity. Which reminds me of Bloch's never-to-be project for George Pal, a biopic of Hieronymus Bosch. Pal planned to publish a lavish book reproducing the best of Bosch's nightmarish paintings in conjunction with the film.

THE HAWKLINE MONSTER is an especially interesting case. Announced for many years in the pages of FM, it was based upon a highly-regarded novel by Richard Brautigan. A "gothic Western" of sorts...Wikipedia outlines the scenario...

The story takes place in eastern Oregon in 1902. A fifteen year old Indian girl named Magic Child, who accidentally wanders into the wrong whorehouse looking for the right men to kill a monster that lives in the basement of Mrs. Hawkline's house. As Magic Child is trying to find the monster, she encounters some scary and bizarre things while trying to kill the beast. She searches for the monster in the cellars and ice caves of the spooky basement. At the climatic ending of the novel, Magic Child manages to kill the monster pouring some whiskey into some chemicals and set the beast on fire and then finally killed it.

DOCTOR WHO AND THE SCRATCHMAN was a pet project of Tom Baker, but he was unable to interest producers in this big-budget treatment of the BBC's famous time-traveling hero...even with the gaurentee of Vincent Price to play Satan (the "Scratchman" of the title).

Both George Hamilton and Stan Dragoti were all ready to return for LOVE AT SECOND BITE, with the added bonus of Christopher Lee as the elder Dracula. The latter had something of a similar role in the French spoof DRACULA, PERE ET FILS. I'd still like to see it happen, though Hamilton says after some weird experiences on location in Transylvania for a TV special, he's not setting foot back there!

BEYOND YOUR WILDEST DREAMS was the follow-up to HEAVY METAL.

JAWS 3, PEOPLE 0 was the attempt by Zanuck-Brown to lampoon the success of those famous shark outings, but their Universal overlords failed to see the humor. It was felt that such a parody would kill the franchise, which could still be milked for box office receipts. The script itself was by John Hughes and Tod Carroll, to be directed by Joe Dante. Other failed faux-JAWS attempts from around the same time include CHEEKS and THE TERRIBLE JAW MAN ("a scientist transforms himself into a shark-man").
