Here's what comes to my mind at the moment: KOLCHAK: NIGHT STALKER (1974, Everyone here should be familiar with this show or hang their head down in shame) THE OUTER LIMITS (1963, The original series of course) STINRAY (1986, Crime Drama staring Nick Mancuso) PLANET OF THE APES (1974, Loosely base on the popular movie) SOMETHING IS OUT THERE (1988, Sci Fi show with the lovely Maryam d'Ado ) Luis

I seem to remember thinking "American Gothic" was pretty good, too, although I don't recall much about it besides the line "There's someone at the door" and the presence of Lucas Black. On a non-genre note, I was devastated when they cancelled "Then Came Bronson." And I loved "Toma", much more than the show it morphed into, "Baretta." Dec 27 07 5:06 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Not a horror/SciFi program but a comedy: Hotl Baltimore (No, that's spelled correctly. The neon light for "e" was burned out.). It was a wacky comedy about a seedy hotel that was home to a bunch of weirdos. James Cromwell was the desk clerk.

Dec 27 07 5:17 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The #1 on my list of "Please release these on DVD" would be the first (and only) season of Quinn Martin's Tales of the Unexpected. Only one episode (that I know of) ever got any kind of video release.

Dec 27 07 7:00 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	CRIME STORY- a show that managed to be both a gloriously overheated piece of pulp AND factually accurate (big chunks of it were only thinly fictionalized; the show's co-creators were an ex-cop and a crime reporter. And the show's star, Dennis Farina, was in fact still technically a member of the Chicago police department at the time of the show's debut!) Dec 27 07 8:38 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	A couple that were going through some growing pains that I liked were the 70's "The Immortal" with Christopher George and "Logan's Run." I'd have liked to have seen where they were headed. I second "The Flash" and "The Outer Limits" as well. Thankfully those are on DVD. And I have to admit, I liked "Wolf Lake"; I think I might be the only one. "I live the unknown, I love the unknown... I AM the unknown."

Dec 27 07 9:26 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I probably like alot of shows that most will hate, but here is my list, in addition to many of those already mentioned (particularly Kolchak & The Flash): When Things Were Rotten: Funny take on Robin Hood - haven't seen it since I was about 8, but i remember it being great fun. Wizards and Warriors: Semi-comic fantasy series that just lasted about 7 episodes or so. The Phoenix: Short-lived show (4 episodes?) of a space alien who was buried on Earth a bazillion years ago coming to life and trying to remember his purpose while fighting badguys. Fantasy Island: The Remake Series that starred Madchen Amick... I thought it had some good ideas (like the possibility that the island was some kind of purgatory on earth that the staff were working through, or perhaps even Prospero's Island), and Ms. Amick is always great. The Others: Fun series about people with paranormal experiences who form a community and wind up finding a dark comspiracy - it was cancelled just when it was getting good. The Highwayman: Supremely goofy sci-fi series with a trucker of the future fighting crime with the dude that held up the oversized Energizer battery in commercials of the time (Jacko?). Max Headroom: More sci-fi fun, 80's style. My God, what's Bond doing?... It was produced by Norman Lear and on ABC, which had no "timely" Lear products to their credits. Unfortunately, Hotl Baltimore was the pits. Totally unfunny. They tried the topical route, even including two middle-aged gay characters, but nothing gelled. It was no big surprise when cancellation came a'knockin' on Hotl Baltimore's front door. For all of its 3 episode run on the Columbia Broadcasting System, "Smith," with Ray Liotta and Virginia Madsen, was a smart and exciting TV show.

Dec 27 07 11:58 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	EZ STREETS - 90s crime drama by future Hollywood filmmaker Paul Haggis with Joe Pantoliano as a psychotic Irish mobster on the rise, and Ken Olin as a disgraced cop trying to bust him. If it was on HBO it could have been a monster hit, but instead ABC did its best to bury it. Also, I'm going to have to throw in MASTERS OF HORROR. The second season was quite bland in comparison to the first, but frankly a third and fourth seasons with the best directors of the first two seasons could have really worked like gangbusters. I vaguely recall a handful of episodes (one of an old woman who had many cats and dies and another centered around an amusement park that i think had Mr Haney from GREEN ACRES in it as a sinister carny). I mostly recall that (then) creepy intro of the camera prowling the halls of an old house. I am sure as an adult the show would probably stink to high heaven but i would love to see it again and give it a try. I was also a fan of WIZARDS AND WARRIORS as a kid but hated how it never had any cool D&D style monsters (at that age i knew little about budgetary constraints!) and i also liked the morning live action kids show CAPTAIN POWER that always seemed oddly bleak and violent for an interactive kids show.

The creepy intro, done in shades of red and black, was the only good thing about Darkroom. Like a lot of "horror genre" TV from the period (early 80's), the stories lacked bite and were far from scary. The episode I remember most had to do with toy soldiers coming to life (complete with toy helicopter on a string), a direct steal from a Stephen King short story published earlier. This was a career low for James Coburn, who somehow managed to parlay a later comeback into an Oscar win. Rod

I remember the episode where a human girl fell in love with Quark's emotionless plant-man crew member, and her father caught them "cross-pollinating". I was also a huge fan of the Saturday morning show "The Kids from C.A.P.E.R." A group of 4 young men, each with a special ability, fight crime in Northeastsouthwestern. The show was a whirlwind of jokes, signt gags, puns and included one song in each episode. And, I would have liked to see the "Dark Shadows" remake series go on a while longer.
