Jun 27 05 1:29 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm just old enough to have fond memories of the days when each sunday mean't scanning the weekly TV schedule for every seen, unseen or unknown potential films of interest. Yes, I too was burned by NIGHT OF THE IGUANA. But I am wondering if even my bone fide monster scholar peers here on this board have any films yet to be watched? My "Holy Grails" of the moment would be the later Kharis films (I may have seen them all as a tiny tot, but in memory I have only seen the first two) the Bob Hope CAT AND THE CANARY (I assume the original is lost), MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE (!!) and the Lugosi THE RAVEN (!!!) ! The last two being the films I am most eager to see. But to be honest I dread the day when I discover I have seen all the old classic horror films worth seeing, so I am not about to take the easy way out and just subscribe to Net Flix! :P Keep watching the schedules! Jun 27 05 9:36 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	If I ponder on this, I can undoubtedly make a considerable list, but the first film that pops up into my head is "The Man in Half Moon Street" (1944). Over 25 years ago, I tried my best to stay up for a late, late show airing of it. It was coming on at about 3:00am, and I watched the first 5 minutes or so, but just had to give in to my sleepiness. I told myself, "what the heck, I'll catch it next time it comes on, which will hopefully be at a more reasonable time." Of course, I'm still waiting.

Jun 29 05 4:17 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	At this point, the titles that come to mind are a lot of foreign horror and sci-fi stuff (I don't see myself ever rectifying this), a lot of non-Republic serials (ditto) and -- this time I am a little abashed -- a number of the silent horror classics, especially German ones.

Jun 30 05 10:32 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	About half the Lewtons, including CAT PEOPLE (!), which will change come October with the DVD set. Already have a copy pre-ordered on amazon.com! Also have never seen just about any Universal horror not on or about to be on DVD. Exceptions are two of the Inner Sanctum mysteries and the 1941 BLACK CAT. Everything else, if it's Universal horror and not on DVD, I have not seen it. Reading books about them, it sounds like there's a lot of fun Universal 40's horrors I have to look forward to. Also have never seen MURDERS IN THE ZOO, THE BLACK ROOM, any Karloff mad scientist Columbia feature, THE RETURN OF DR. X (though I saw clips on a Bogey documentary that came with the CASABLANCA DVD - looks fun), DR. CYCLOPS, GHOST BREAKERS, THE CAT AND THE CANARY, any 40's Republic horror, all the post '43 or '44 PRC horrors, a couple of Monogram horrors (though I've seen all the Monogram 9), MURDER BY THE CLOCK, and probably others I'm forgetting. While I've seen most the classics, it sounds like there are a lot of fun films I'm missing out on, and I wouldn't have it any other way because it's always nice to have something to look forward to. Scum!

Finally saw Ingram's "The Magician" (thanks to our friends at CryptFlicks)... a must see for fans of Whales' "Frankenstein"... I'm ashamed to say I've never seen Lewton's "I Walked with a Zombie"... soon to be rectified... and a score of lost films I hope someday surface (Januskopf, London after Midnight, etc.)...

THE UGLY DUCKLING JONATHAN THE FINAL WAR ALMOST MARRIED RETURN OF THE TERROR TRICK FOR TRICK EYES OF ANNIE JONES MAGIC SPECTACLES THE WITCH (1952) F.P. 1 (German version) That list would include KRAKATIT and LA LLORONA (1933) except that I will be watching those two any day now. Mention should also be made of a couple of short films: CROSSROADS THE MIRROR AND MARKHEIM And, if I didn't assume they were lost, I would also include: FIFTEEN WIVES and NOAH'S ARK (not the '28 semi-silent, but the French film from the '50s that Bill Warren dug up for the KWTS revamp) Anyone else care to play? (Or to -- hopefully -- correct me about the status of those two presumed-lost films?)

Assuming that this is L'ARCHE DE NOÉ [IMDb], produced in 1945, then released in France in 1947 and in the US in 1950, it certainly still exists in its original French incarnation. It was released twice during the 1990s on the René Chateau vhs label (PAL/SECAM format) in France, and original copies can still be found for 20 to 40 Euros (with the caveat that these obviously won't play on standard US/NTSC vhs players): http://www.priceminister.com/offer/buy/920981/L-arche-De-Noe-VHS.html
