Mar 16 11 5:08 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Ten years ago today, I sat down with a reference book and trotted out a list of one hundred movies. Then I sat down to watch the movie highest on the list that I had in my collection. That was ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN. That was how the whole Movie of the Day project began. I'd had these books listing all of these fantastically-themed movies, most of which I'd never seen. Wouldn't it be interesting, I thought, to try to watch as many of them as I can at the rate of one a day? I had no plans for writing reviews or publicly documenting the project; that came several months later. So how many have I watched? If I had been able to watch one movie every day, I would now be up to 3,652 movies. Alas, by the rules I set out for the project (my list could grow no longer than a thousand movies), there were days when I had no movies to watch, and I instituted the "Ones that got away" sub-project to do sum list-clearing. I've had to do that 127 times since I started, so this leaves my movie count at 3,525. So today, I begin my second decade of movie-watching. The dips into the "ones-that-got-away" will sadly become more frequent, but hopefully they won't become more frequent than the movies I watch. And who knows - maybe ten years from now, I'll actually be dipping into movies from the twenty-first century; I think the latest year I've hit so far is 1993. Wish me luck!
