I figured that BRIDE would be getting most of the support here anyway. THE INVISIBLE MAN is also a front-runner for me. But why hasn't THE OLD DARK HOUSE been included here? Sacrelige!

(But that's just me.) Unfortunately, no -- it's not just you. Some fans are way too particular in how they categorize their films. But if we want to talk more, as Izzy just asked - where is the science in KING KONG?? Anyway - I picked BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN... a movie which some would say isn't horror either... Whatever the case, ALL of these 30s films are collectively included in Bryan Senn's excellent book: GOLDEN HORRORS.

If Kong wasn't on the list my choice would've been much harder. Probably would have been BRIDE or JEKYLL or the MUMMY or the INVISBLE MAN or...awwww, curse you and your confounded polls. Not really. If you will substitute Fritz Lang's The Testament of Dr. Mabuse (1933) for The Hunchback of Notre Dame I will vote for that.
