I watched the GOLDEN BOY DVD this weekend. I've got a full review of it up at www.inthebalcony.com, but frankly I
don't mention the Shemp Howard short except briefly; I thought it was relatively awful, even as Columbia shorts go, although Stooges fans will be
interested because it's got a comedy routine in it used to very good effect by Shemp's two brothers and their friend Larry. That aside, though, GOLDEN
BOY is a good movie and a fine DVD with a lot of very interesting bonus material, and I recommend it, particularly if we want to keep encouraging Sony to open
the Columbia vaults.
