It's that time of year again, so does anybody here know what horror movies they'll be watching? I'm taking a break this year from all the classics I've (and probably everybody else on this board) have seen a million times and for the most part will be watching films I haven't seen yet or in a while. Films I'll be watching include:
The Val Lewton box set: I've only seen four of the films, and never CAT PEOPLE, if you can believe that. Looking forward to viewing this set.
The Universal Hammer box set: I've seen CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF recently, but plan on watching the other seven in the coming month.
STRANGLER OF THE SWAMP and THE BRUTE MAN: Just bought the DVD's and am showing great restraint in waiting until October.
ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE: Another film I have not seen and will thanks to the Vol. 4 DVD set coming soon. Will probably watch MEET THE MUMMY this month too.
THE INDESTRUCTIBLE MAN (I've had it on DVD for awhile but have yet to watch it)
THE BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS: Based on reputation, CITIZEN KANE may have some competition!
With the help of TCM (all I've yet to see):
THE GHOST BREAKERS
MUMMY'S BOYS
EYES OF THE MUMMY
THE RETURN OF DR. X
ZOMBIES ON BROADWAY (a rare Bela film I've yet to see)
I was at the point where I thought I've seen it all, but it seems as if I have a lot to look forward to after all. DRACULA, FRANKENSTEIN, THE WOLF MAN, and the like are great, but perhaps they would all benefit from a few years rest.
