May 31 07 9:46 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	There's been a discussion on Nessie in a topic of that name in the Hammer folder. This video looks like nothing much to me. I think there are actually two videos here; in the first one, the "shape" looks to me like nothing more than a standing wave. In these long, narrow lakes, waves, as from bow wakes, can travel a long, long way from what caused them. When I was at Loch Ness, I saw a couple of these myself--my heart stopped, of course, but after a moment I realized what I was seeing. The second video, showing what looks like an area where something has just submerged, couldn't be considered proof of anything. It might have been made by a diving duck, by a salmon that briefly breached the surface, or by monster.

Good for filmmaking, but bad for pranksters and their victims. I try to keep an open mind, especially since unknown types of animals do still keep turning up in remote areas of the world. A part of me would like to think that we'll never really know, one way or another, about Nessie. (A little mystery can be a nice thing.)

But come on, there are some guys here on the Board that haven't seen Casablanca! Color me gullible---but seriously, I laughed out loud when I read that---but, damn, it looked pretty good! Very convincing. And I got so excited when I saw it. Since it was posted on May 30th I thought it was the video that CNN had run. I guess the extent of the CNN story was the frame grab at the right of their page, bright blue water with a blurry pencil thin image running through the center of it. Where are Mulder and Scully when you need them. At least Scully.

But I would have recognized that footage from Harry and the Hendersons was not the real Big Foot. It would be okay to razz me for thinking that it was actual video, guys. Seriously, I'm still laughing about it myself.

Jun 2 07 1:04 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I thought the mockumentary footage looked very convincing. In fact, I'm still not sure how they faked it so realistically. We follow that thing for quite a distance, and its back rises up once. There's no boat pulling it on a wire, and it's too big and fast moving to be a guy in the water. It's a good job, however they achieved it.

I can't make heads or tails (or bumps) out of it on my low res, dial up set up here at home. Maybe I can sneak a peak at it at work monday. I've about given up on Nessie though. But Model fan's discription of the video showing a large shadow underwater reminds me of two very thought provoking clips I've seen of something in North America. I forget if it was alleged footage of Champ or Ogopogo, but I remember an UNSOLVED MYSTERYIES that had some 8mm footage from the 60's showing a huge... dare I say plesiasaur shaped shadow moving just underneath the water, and then in the early 90's a Japanese TV documentary had some tourist shot video footage dipecting the same exact thing. I think it's an all or nothing situation though. If there is a Champ or Ogopogo I would expect there is a Nessie as well. But there does seem to be mounting evidence that there is no large beasts in Loch Ness. Sad. :( Maybe Nessie, Ogopogo and Champ are all prehistoric reptile ghosts? www.itcamefromplanetx.com
