I find it interesting that about 99.9% of the documentaries I watched this past month (I'm admittedly a JFK assassination buff--read tons of books, watched many docs over the years) were in the lone nut camp. With the exception of one that claimed the fatal head shot was accidentally fired by a secret service agent in the car immediately behind the President (in that case the conspiracy, such as it was, was intended just to cover up this accident). And a few snippets here and there on C-Span, notably the guy who knew Oswald and drove him to work that day, and two of the Parkland hospital surgeons who treated JFK when he was rushed there that day.

Take that new slant/bias for what you will, I'll just leave it at that, and note that documentaries that used to be shown quite frequently during the anniversary month, such as "The Men Who Killed Kennedy" are apparently banned from the US airwaves.

I don't think that just because there is a preponderance of entities who could have been involved and had possible motives doesn't mean that some or all of them didn't have a hand in it. I think those who wish to veil are quite happy with that mish-mash and ultimate conclusion that none of it is real or could have happened, and it all leads back to the lone nut.

I try to be somewhat open about it, but I find too many questions and too many odd things about it to lead me to believe that LHO was the only person that day and he alone. I just don't buy it. I realize that the flavor of the day is to think differently than that, and I don't want to diminish honest folk who honestly believe it, as I realize some of you do. If that's your honest assessment after studying whatever facts (albeit incomplete) are available, then, I certainly respect that. I just think we're being force-fed that these days and I wonder why. The networks and cable stations just don't run very many, if any, contrary views these days.

I found myself wrapped up in two things at the end of the day after watching tons of docs this month (last month I attended a conference on it). Just who was this Lee Harvey Oswald person. All we really have first-hand are the few snippets of comments he makes during the two days he's in custody before he, himself, is assassinated. And from that....I just can't get a feel for him. I can see every theory about him fulfilled depending on which comment you hear, and even then, how you interpret tone or intention, which is really difficult to know for sure.

The other thing was just how incredibly tragic this incident was...for our nation, for a family, for a man. Just so big and beyond words. I realize that those who feel LHO acted alone think that this is why some of us may *need* conspiracy to explain this, and I can understand that. I might be fooling myself if I don't think that might be why I go down that path. But then, I also note that 3 progressive voices in the nation were felled by assassins in the span of 5 years, and I have to wonder how and why. Just my thoughts.
