I saw bits of this a long time ago and didn't exactly find it riveting, but I may need to give it another chance. When I was a kid Kirk Douglas was the macho action hero (along with Charles Bronson and Woody Strode --- imagine our delight at Spartacus) If Douglas' memoir is to be believed he got fed up with Neville Brand's belligerence on the set and threatened to kick his ass if he didn't shape up. Now that would have been something for a DVD extra.
