What exactly did "some people" expect Tim Lucas to do about Spidermonkey? When he was satisfied that she plagiarized work, he publicly (via his blog) denounced her work. Then in the next issue of Video Watchdog he also  publicly denounced her work. So the problem here seems to be a matter of degree. Unlike some posters concerning other fandom miscreants,  after all the facts were in he did not continue to make excuses for her bad behavior or blame others for her crime.

I am interested if anyone can point to one post making a defense of Spidermonkey  (or any other plagiarist) **after** they had been proven guilty in the court of public opinion.  This argument has been maneuvered in such a way that if you don't agree with the degree of condemnation, you are condoning the crime. Which is B.S. and all too common in this day and age.

I am curious, what exactly could Tim do to make these folks happy?
