I'm just happy I was able to grab a Batmobile before the prices went too crazy on it. It was already way over priced at 59.99 (w/ no sound & light FX etc.) I fully expected these to flood the market considering all the variations Mattel did with the Hot Wheels versions, but from what (unconfirmed) reports I have heard, whatever stock exists in retail (TRU) was left over from last Summer's SDCC. Target has it
listed
on its web site but its not FS online, and I'm not sure if it ever made it into any stores.
I just picked up one of the
Eaglemoss
Batmobiles, this
one
. It's very detailed, etc. but the cars in this series are fragile static models, which is a bit of a turn off for me, especially after the awesome Corgi line of a few years ago, and the recent Hot Wheels versions. These come with a 'magazine' that gives you details and blueprints for each car. The vehicles are permanently fixed to a plastic 'diorama' base with a removable plastic cover and a lenticular background. They have a really nice looking
Bat
from TDKR, but at about double the price point of the regular editions (about 20. USD) it's kind of a stretch for me mainly due to the fact that I can't have thevisceral enjoyment of holding the thing in my hand.
