I grew up playing video games. I loved them. They were fun, colorful, and at times frustrating. As I explained on another thread, the Castlevania series got me into the old horror movies and Gothic fiction.

Nowadays I can't stand video games. And here's why: they're too cinematic. I don't need to sit through a thirty-minute cutscene to explain what's happening in the next stage. Just let me play! And what's worse, movies are turning into video games with all this cheesy, cartoony CGI spread everywhere. I don't like the cross-pollinating between the two media. It's hurting both entertainment forms. It has to stop.

Until it does, my game consoles will stay turned off.
