NPR reported on the GRAND THEFT AUTO take today.  They said that represented about 12 million got-to-have-it-the-first-day fans.  Whereas the IRON MAN 3 take, at about $7 a head average, represents over 170 million people.  The difference is in the pricing, the videogame, obviously, costing a great deal more.  Still, the radio report said that this type of videogame, I think they called it a triple A, cost about $100 million to develop and market so I'm sure the film industry could be excused if they were jealous of a product that grosses 8 times its cost in a day.  Hollywood would be happy if their movies grossed 8 times their cost through their entire theatrical run.  I don't think videogames are replacing movies, just competing for the entertainment dollar, but they are influencing the type of movies that are made and the cinematic techniques used.
