Ahh, and I was just about to mention LeFanu, E. F. Benson, Ambrose Bierce, Fitz-James O'Brien, Algernon Blackwood, etc.!

I've read most of the novels mentioned except HUNCHBACK and DORIAN GRAY. Wells's books I read frequently (but his SEVEN SF NOVELS ends with In the Days of the Comet, which I've never quite gotten through. "Here's our Utopia! Isn't it so perfect and wonderful in our Utopia? Don't you wish you could live in a Utopia?")

Of novels yet to be filmed, I must mention William H. Hodgson's BOATS OF THE "GLEN CARRIG", THE NIGHT LAND, and especially HOUSE ON THE BORDERLAND. And his short stories. And Carnacki, the Ghost-Hunter!
