Lianna Spiderbaby has decided to put out a direct statement. She posted this on her Twitter account:

I apologize for the plagiarism in my work. I am leaving journalism behind for awhile. I'm so very sorry to everyone esp those I've wronged.

A sad episode, and one all too common these days. (It makes you wonder how rife this was pre-Web, when these things were often only discovered accidentally).

We wish her well, and hope EVERYONE learns and grows from this.  Writing and research is not a cut-and-paste exercise.  Other people's work should spark new thinking and connections, not just fill in the blanks.

Anyhow, some of her stories being taken down, etc.  Magazine editors may have more to say, but from the Rondo's point of view (and mine), we're satisfied and ready to move on.
