Sorry for my tardy reply, JoJo. I was kinda waiting to see if you received any response from others on the board (surprised that gef the talking mongoose and/or Python hasn't chimed in here), but as usual it seems that we are in a very small and neglected minority who watch more films of questionable value in order to find the sparklers (like Sound of My Voice or Safety Not Guaranteed). No big surprise, I suppose.
As far as this film goes, I was less than thrilled with it (although I'm not gonna dive too much into negative territory), mainly due to my not internalizing or believing the logic of theĀ "group dynamic" of the film. And yes, I wondered if the twist ending was gonna happen, and it did, and I struggling to include that in any logical progression of the storyline other than sheer shock effect.
But... production values were good; acting was decent to good; the screenplay edged a bit too closely to the Scream franchise, but I don't expect complete originality all the time. The film is definitely worth a look, if only to justify one or the other polar extreme of opinion here.
Again, my apologies for waiting this long to respond. I've watched a few new titles in recent weeks, but haven't posted mini-reviews for the same reasons you are experiencing in this thread.
... Reed
