Wich2, I THINK I heard one with Lugosi many years ago - I'd forgotten, so I have to look that one back up (is there more than one?).

Had no idea they did one with Chaney Jr! I don't know that I've ever heard Jr. on any radio ep.

I recently heard a recording of WHO'S ON FIRST that unfortunately had no date attached to it. It must have been an early version, maybe even the KATE SMITH version, because it was so unlike any other I've heard. Costello's voice was pitched higher than usual, and Abbott was more patient and calm, and the pacing was much slower. Weird to hear it after the high energy versions they later did.

Also heard one with Sid Fields subbing for Abbott - again weird to hear, but this time because Costello couldn't change anything around. I think he did, and Sid had to struggle to find the right response.

But I just don't care for the "Sebastian" character.

Deep water is dark and restful and full of peace.
