It's a fun film, Jay, and maybe the first really A level flick in the 50s sci-fi canon. The color is nice, the cast outstanding, and it's very different from most of what followed in the genre in the years that followed. The story and its development are awkward and often strain credulity, but it has a lot on the ball. A lot of people don't like that famous final scene, which I won't spoil for those who haven't seen the film, because it looks phoney. I actually like it, but that's me. Besides, it's a spirited film, well worth watching.
