Tonterius is perhaps falling back on the flimsy argument I've seen a few times on the MZ board that in the Japanese version, after you hear Kong's roar... you then hear Godzilla's roar. Of course this totally ignores that the roars are not anymore a literal part of the scene than the musical score and big red "Owari" kanji supperimposed over the shot.... but someimes the truth can be hard to accept for us G-fans!

For those still seaking diffinative proof, last year NHK (Sort of Japan's BBC or PBS) had an excellent doc titled SARABA GOJIRA, that had a screen filling, easy to read close up of the very passage from the film's screenplay affirming that Kong was indeed the winner.

Of course they then cut to the 80 something former Godzilla suit actor Haru Nakajima insisting that "No I (as in Godzilla) won!" His reasoning was that in the final shot of the two falling into the water Godzilla was on top... but I'm also sure he mean't the comments tongue in cheek and jokingly!
