Fandom (especially Kaiju fandom) can be such a silly and evil thing. It's crazy man, crazy.

I saw the second US premier showing of Gamera at G-Fest, and I have to tell you it was a great little film. I have seen many people comment on the "it was good, for a kids film" on a few places. But in all honesty, it doesn't really play as a pure kids film. My wife was more than a little taken back by the man floating in the ocean who goes under, and then a pool of blood fills his place. Plus there were a few other brutal scenes. I think being fans of these films we forget that some of the stuff can actually be a little "strong" at times, green blood or no. My wife had never seen a Gamera film before, so her "fresh eyes" gave a bit of a different view. She did tell people later, after getting home from the convention, that seeing the movie with a bunch of fans of the genre was a lot of fun. She commented that she had never been in a theater where people cheered as much as they did, and the fan base actually made it a really fun time.
