All this talk prompted me to get out my Simitar MONSTER ZERO and watch it last night (as for the Oscars, who needs Philip Seymour Hoffman when you got Nick Adams?).

Other than some weak colors (although the source had not "turned", still lots of greens and yellows), the print is really pretty good, and even blown up big on a projector looks surprisingly sharp for a non enhanced disc. As I remember, G vs THE THING is not quite as good or sharp. I'll have to give it another look too. Their GODZILLA is as I said originally, not bad at all - just watched it recently too.

I did notice that about halfway through MZ the "5.1" track went way out of sync (not that you could tell on anyone but Nick Adams!) I guess I'd always watched with the standard Dolby track before, and indeed that one stays in sync fine (relatively speaking). Just another argument against "Bogo-Surround" re-engineering as I like to call it.
