Bela, I remember reading somewhere that Nimoy disliked the mind-meld to become such an easy out for a variety of problems. I think he had to fight to keep it out of some. I believed he preferred the "mystery" behind it, as well as that it prevented other possible solutions.
I remember as a kid watching the episodes off TV - it seemed that they were played in a random order, but that could just be my memory. It's interesting to see how the look of the show changed fairly drastically over the seasons. I really like the lighting of the early episodes - many backgrounds are filled with a Bava-esque color scheme.
I also liked the variety of crew uniforms and outfits in the early episodes that were later dropped, like the radiation outfit or the jumpsuit. It added a little more visual variety.
Fave episodes: DOOMSDAY MACHINE (original, uncut version) and NAKED TIME - I'll even throw in the animated BEYOND THE FARTHEST STAR.
As far as least, probably AND THE CHILDREN SHALL LEAD.
There are a handful that despite having seen I have no opinion of at all - RETURN OF THE ARCHONS, LIGHTS OF ZETAR, BY ANY OTHER NAME.
Deep water is dark and restful and full of peace.
