At this early hour and before coffee only YAMATO/Star Trek feature parallels that spring to mind is both Yamato and Enterprise at various points returning from an epic battle only to be faced with being scuttled in favor of their respective fleets' brand new flagships (Yamato and Andromeda in FAREWELL SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO, Enterprise and Excelsior in STAR TREK III) or being relagated to training vessels for new cadets (The Yamato in YAMATO THE NEW VOYAGES and the Enterprise in STAR TREK II). I seem to recall there were a lot more parallels and I'd love to see that list. I think it was something of a brilliant move on Nick Meyer and/or Harve Bennett in having the Enterprise more of an underdog rather than always being the newest and bestest ship in the fleet.
I'm sure the original 1974 Yamato series must have took a cue from the animated Star Trek of roughly the same time in having Holodecks and giant inflatable decoy replicas of their respective ships!
