Really nice discs, I picked up both GHIDRAH and INVASION OF ASTRO MONSTER/MONSTER ZERO. Yeah, in a perfect world GHIDRAH, my pick for "Desert Island Kaiju" might have been cleaned up a little more (MONSTER ZERO looks great), but it is still very good. I like Classic Media's rotating of the commentary participants -- even though I am more of a technical commentary fan (how did they make Godzilla's eyeballs wiggle, that kind of stuff), I enjoyed David Kalat's more scholarly/social history take as a change of pace on GHIDRAH.

I'd vote for both of these films as two perfectly quintessential Toho fantasies - these are great starting places for new fans or to get kids interested in these movies. They're produced at the peak of sixties Toho creativity - just when the films were getting grander, wonderfully crazy, and epic - and before they started trending toward the cheaper and the repetetive. I love them!
