I just watched this one on Sunday last - having watched one a weekend to finally see them all. I liked the first two and this last one - the others were made difficult by the annoying reporter (just shut up already!).

If you notice, Key Luke's Wong didn't live in the same home Karloff did - Luke was in an apartment, but seemed to have the same manservant as in the other films.

It is fairly interesting hat Keye Luke was cast as the lead, as opposed to another Caucasian actor using the same make-up Karloff did. It was obviously cheaper to cast an Asian to play an Asian, but if Keye Luke was unavailable I wonder which way they would have gone. With all the controversy (unwarranted) about the Chan/Moto/Wong films, does PoC get any sort of pass?

I'll be picking up the reprint collection of the original short stories, which I've read are pretty tawdry in their way.

Deep water is dark and restful and full of peace.
