I have to admit that, as a child, having sat through inane music shows like "Porter Waggoner", "Bill Anderson" and "Bobby Goldsboro", it was disapointing to finally arrive at the midnight monster flick only to have it be a weird Mexican wrestling flick. Still, I sat up for 90 minutes to get to it, and the coke was still cold in my glass and the popcorn still salty, so I thought I'd watch.

Oddly enough, these bizarre oddities with Santo did seem to hold my attention. I guess because I was a fan of pro wrestling as a child and these movies were very atmospheric. I don't recall any of the titles, but it seems like Santo would wrestle at the arena, then head out to the edge of town where monsters lived in caves and did their nefarious deeds.

They couldn't come close to the Universal horrors or the 50s monster/sci-fi that I craved, but they did have their own kind of charm.
