CASTLE OF BLOOD is one of his best. While I enjoy his remake, WEB OF THE SPIDER, I don't think it has aged as well as the first film. Recently picked up SEVEN DEATHS IN A CAT'S EYE, which was fun. Long before Disney's TREASURE PLANET, there was Margheriti's 1987 SPACE ISLAND, aka TREASURE ISLAND IN SPACE. (There had also been a 1982 animated effort along those lines, PLANETATA NA SAKROVISHTATA, also called THE TREASURE PLANET.) Another recent Margheriti viewing was HERCULES, PRISONER OF EVIL, in which a witch turns our hero into a werewolf-like creature. (It's included as a bonus feature on the Retromedia DVD of HERCULES AND THE CAPTIVE WOMEN. Beware the dollar DVD double feature of HERCULES AND THE PRINCESS OF TROY/HERCULES, PRISONER OF EVIL--it does NOT have the Mergheriti film on it. Instead, it's actually HERCULES AGAINST THE MONGOLS, originally a Maciste flick, with its titles removed.)
