I am quite familiar with SCARLET STREET and its editor Richard Valley (who I think is one heck of an editor, by the way). The gay subtext found hither and thou in SS is neither here nor there. Just another slant on a great magazine and I commend Richard for his courage.
I've read numerous accounts on David Peel in SS and other magazines, but , as yet, nothing has really surfaced with regard to his personal views on the film or how he may have researched his interpretation of the vampire. One would hope that possibly someone in the UK may have approached him on these topics at one time or another. Richard has always made it known that he too is always hoping to find that elusive individual who may have known and talked with David Peel about his role in BOD. We can only hope...but, at this late date, it is more and more doubtful that it/he will ever materialize. Gary Dorst/Django1
