The problem with the Roy Ashton makeup was...the management could not and would not make up their mind. Roy did drawing after drawing, design after design. "Is this what you want? Is that what you want? What DO you want?" As on the mask with PHANTOM OF THE OPERA they put off and put off making a decision. Tony Hinds could be very indecisive at times, and even called himself a "little potty." I'm not sure the final makeup would have looked all that much better, but there is a good chance it might have been more refined.
